| Since October of 1989, Sikorsky has been producing the UH-60L BLACK HAWK helicopter with 24 percent more power than the UH-60A model. The T700-GE-701C turbine engines enable the UH-60L to take advantage of the new 3,400 shp improved durability main gearbox.
As part of the growing USEC commitment to ground forces, the purchase of 5 new Blackhawks was approved in April 2007, for delivery in July that year. Following the crashing of 30003 and 30004 during operation firefly, the purchase was expedited.
This aircraft was one of five delivered to USEC on 23 May 2007. |
